INGREDIENTS
METHOD
In a medium size mixing bowl stir together the dry ingredients – oats, cacao powder, chia seeds, sea salt and cinnamon.
In a different medium size mixing bowl stir together the almond butter, honey and vanilla extract until well combined.
Pour the wet mixture over the dry and stir well until a thick “dough” is formed. Use your hands to form the dough into bite size balls. You may want to wet your hands with warm water to make this easier and less sticky.
Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set.
Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or in the freezer for a month.
TIPS & NUTRITION
These energy bites are full of antioxidant rich cacao plus protein and fibre from the oats, almond butter and chia seeds.
Make them nut free by using sunflower seed butter or pumpkin seed butter instead of almond butter.
